The Hall of Dragons is home to the statues that pay tribute to the most important dragons in history. The Cosmic energy wave has breathed life into the one dedicated to Targon, a ferocious dragon from centuries ago who destroyed numerous ancient cities. Now, it would be fair to say that he isn't happy to be back from his well deserved eternal rest. He's actually furious.

Role: Tank

Overview

Targon is a very poor Nature tank that needs to set up to access a mere one turn Taunt, leaving his allies susceptible to being attacked. While he has a fantastic trait to go well with his plethora of sustaining positive effects, his lack of redirection makes it hard for even that to save him. Unfortunately, nearly all of those effects are heals making him bland and predictable as well as being extremely vulnerable to Reverse Healing. His attacker potential is also very lacking, as one of his very few attacking moves drains his own life and his other moves are low in damage output, especially with his low power. As if that wasn't bad enough, his Damage Mirrors are all incomplete, something that hasn't been seen for quite a long time and seems to be done here just to make him worse. Targon could've been a great monster, but missing out on the Taunt tanks need to perform their job best really screwed him over.

Pros:

  • Good special
  • Tons of healing to sustain himself
  • Double Life and Healing to further sustain
  • Great Trait
  • Insane life
  • Great Relic slots
  • Low cooldowns

Cons:

  • Ancient Assault removes 25% of total life from himself
  • Bad power and very few attacking moves, despite a high damaging skill
  • Can't apply any negative effects (except for Special)
  • No NER
  • High stamina costs
  • Needs a turn to set up, and it only lasts for 1 turn
  • Damage Mirrors are all incomplete
  • Very weak to Reverse Healing, due to nearly all sustaining effects being heals
  • Low speed

Recommended Relics: Nebotus' Armor, Morgz's Armor, Hiroim's Shield, Wangzhou's Shield, Tenacity Shield

Common Set-Ups

  • Targon / Warmaster Elvira / Neobuki: This monster is honestly so bad that the only team he is found in is in troll defence teams. As with any other monster that has PEP as a trait, pairing them up with Elvira gives them a near unremovable evasion until it is their turn. If you want to use this team as a strategy, you only need to level Targon and Neobuki to Level 4, forcing the opposing team to keep recharging until the evasion goes away.

Recommended Allies

  • Chuckle Muckel or Noahgnarok can be great allies for Targon, stacking Positive Effects on him which can't be removed because of his trait.
  • Tabora can remove Targon's negative effects, and give him Torture Immunity in one move, thanks to Atrophy. She also has a skill that provides PEP and trait protection if he comes to need it.
  • As with any monster with Positive Effects Protection as a trait, Warmaster Elvira immediately provides him unremovable Evasion, allowing him the near-guaranteed turn he needs to begin his setup.
  • The Dreamer can also give him a plethora of nice effects, such as the aforementioned evasion and double damage + damage boost.

Counters

  • Strong Fire Attackers like Kaih the Sunmelter or Spitfire prove useful at taking out this Bowser wannabe.
  • Monsters with Reverse Healing or Negate Healing, like Luponudo, are a death sentence for this turtle since his main self-sustaining skills rely on healing himself a lot.
  • As a lot of his usability relies on unremovable sustain, any monster that can Trait Disable, such as Tabora or Ondana, can get rid of his PEP and wreak havoc, especially since he has no NER.
