Overview
Tephra does the job all Fire monsters do; deal damage and Burn. He has access to Fire Weakness and can inflict some nice damage with it, but he almost completely relies on it as he has basically nothing else going for him. Overall, he's really just a far worse version of Igneus.
Pros:
- Mostly low cooldowns
- AoE Fire Weakness to boost damage output
- Good damaging moves
Cons:
- Bad trait
- Horrendous power and speed
- Below average life stat
- Relies heavily on Fire Weakness
- Burn is the only other negative effect
- AoE Skills have moderate to high cooldowns
- Bad relics for an attacker
Recommended Moveset
Don't Make Me Erupt!
- Lavafall (AoE 45 Fire dmg, 36s, 3 CD)
- Lava Mist (AoE 30 Fire dmg + Fire Weakness, 31s, 3 CD)
- Basalt Aggression / Basalt Pokes (Aggression for 50 Special dmg + Fire Weakness, 28s, 0 CD) / (Pokes for 50 Special dmg + Burn, 28s, 1 CD)
- Magma Avalanche (75 Fire dmg, 28s, 1 CD)
Tephra only does damage and his Fire Weakness may help him increase his damage output, but his low power makes him unusable. But if you want to try to use him anyway, Lava Mist applies AoE Fire Weakness, and if followed by Lavafall, he can deal a good amount of damage. Basalt Aggression is your 0 cooldown move that does good damage while adding Fire Weakness, while Basalt Pokes applies his only Torture effect, Burn. Magma Avalanche deals massive Gire damage and can be more damaging with Fire Weakness.
Recommended Runes: 3 Strength; 2 Strength, 1 Speed/Team Speed
Recommended Relics: Nebotus' Armor, Thetys' Armor, Morgz's Armor
Counters
- Good Water attackers, such as Thetys' Pet or Hookuai, can defeat this erupting volcano easily.
- After he applies Fire Weakness to all enemies, using a monster with Team NER can get rid of the Fire Weakness and limit his damage output.
- He is easily denied.
